Move with Greater Ease

A 14-Day Joint-Care Therapy

When joints ache and stiffen, the simplest movements ask for effort, and the day grows smaller. Over a fortnight, this therapy brings warm oils, herbal compresses, and steady, attentive care to tired joints — helping to ease the pain, calm the swelling, and coax the body back toward comfortable, freer movement.

Who Is It For?

This therapy is for those living with joint pain or stiffness. It may suit you if you experience:

  • Aching, stiff, or swollen joints — knees, hands, hips, or shoulders.
  • Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or age-related joint wear.
  • Reduced mobility that makes everyday movement harder than it should be.
  • A wish for gentle, warming relief alongside your existing care.

Ayurveda understands these largely as Vata- and Ama- (toxin-) related joint conditions. Our Ayurveda doctors (Vaidyas) begin with a consultation, and if you have a diagnosed condition, we work alongside — not in place of — your medical care.

What You Will Gain

  • Eased Pain & Stiffness: Warm-oil therapies may help soothe aching joints and loosen stiffness.
  • Calmer Swelling: A care plan that supports reduced inflammation and discomfort.
  • Improved Mobility: As muscles relax and circulation improves, movement may come more freely.
  • Restorative Care: Warmth and nourishment that support the tissues around the joints.

This is supportive, complementary care rather than a cure. We'll be honest about what a fortnight can offer, and send you home with gentle practices to protect your gains.

Your Treatments

Your therapies are chosen for you by our Vaidyas, focused on the joints:

  • Janu Basti (warm oil on the knee): warm medicated oil held in a herbal-dough dam over the knee (or other joints).
  • Pizhichil (a continuous pour of warm oil): often called the "king of therapies," a streaming warm-oil treatment that deeply relaxes and nourishes.
  • Elakizhi (warm leaf poultice) and Podikizhi (warm herbal-powder poultice): heated compresses applied to ease pain and stiffness.
  • Abhyanga (warm herbal-oil massage): to relax the muscles and improve circulation around the joints.
  • Joint-Friendly Yoga & Diet: gentle movement and an anti-inflammatory, sattvic table throughout.

What Your Days Might Look Like

The days balance warming therapy with gentle movement and rest:

  • Morning: A consultation and pulse check, gentle joint-friendly yoga, and a nourishing breakfast.
  • Midday: Abhyanga, then your localised therapy — Janu Basti, Pizhichil, or a Kizhi compress — and a herbal steam.
  • Afternoon: Rest, an anti-inflammatory lunch, and quiet time.
  • Evening: Gentle relaxation, an early dinner, and restful sleep.

Across the fortnight, the steady warmth and care help the joints feel looser, calmer, and more willing — so movement, little by little, feels like yours again.
