Is a Detox Retreat Right for You?

This retreat is for you if you feel heavy, foggy, or quietly depleted — if digestion has grown sluggish (a sign of accumulated toxins, or ama), if sleep no longer restores, or if months of stress and overstimulation have left you running on empty. It suits those returning from illness, moving through burnout, or simply sensing that something needs to reset.

It is not a crash cleanse, and we will not pretend otherwise. We work gently and gradually, guided by your individual constitution (Prakriti). If you are pregnant, managing an acute illness, or on complex medication, talk to us first — we will shape the programme around you, or honestly suggest you wait. Presence and deep care come before any promise.

Your Days at Kovalam

Your days unfold slowly, in rhythm with the land. Mornings begin with gentle yoga and breathwork (pranayama) to wake the system; doctor-led, Panchakarma-inspired therapies follow, each chosen for your body rather than a template. Meals are light, warm, and cooked to rekindle your digestive fire (agni) — nourishment, never deprivation.

Afternoons leave room for rest, a slow walk by Vellayani Lake, or simply silence. Evenings close with meditation, so the day’s release settles into stillness. It is detox as a return to yourself — clearer, lighter, and more at ease — set among quiet gardens a short distance from the beaches of Kovalam, Kerala.

How long should a detox retreat be? Even a few days can lighten and restore, but deeper cleansing unfolds over a week or more. We will suggest a length that fits your needs and your time — here is how to think about 7, 14 or 21 days.

Will I be hungry? No. There is no harsh fasting here. Cleansing foods are warm, simple, and satisfying — designed to rest your digestion, not to starve it.
